Excursion tips

The near and far surroundings of the house Broichtal offers numerous possibilities to spend one or more nice days. Of course, we are not a metropolis like Paris, but the following (certainly not exhaustive) list should give you one or the other point of reference for leisure activities:

House Broichtal

Our hotel is located directly in nature. From here you can hike along the lake, children can play in the stream and joggers/cyclists/hikers can use the house as a starting point for extensive tours. Extensive maps are available in the entrance area. Right in front of our door there is an adventure mini golf course, a boat rental (with barbecue boats), a small beach with a beach bar on the lake and the Alsdorf animal park with a large children’s playground. Here you can experience the animals up close. Admission to the zoo is free!

Alsdorf

The mining town of Alsdorf invites you to take a look back at its industrial history. The history of energy is told in an experience-oriented manner at Annaplatz or in the ENERGITICON Museum. Around the water tower is the Cinetower Kinopark Alsdorf, which combines comfort and the latest cinema technology. There are cozy gastronomic facilities that tempt with numerous culinary delicacies. The Alsdorfer Stadthalle is located right next to the multiplex cinema, where musicals, theater performances and comedy take place. Information about the programme, the current cinema programme, the restaurants and the museums can be found in the entrance area.

Aachen

The old imperial city of Aachen with its cathedral, which is a World Heritage Site, is a twenty-minute drive from Haus Broichtal. The city offers numerous sights and, with the Aquis Plaza, has a modern shopping mall that leaves nothing to be desired. The Soers sports park is less than 9 km from our hotel. The world-famous equestrian event CHIO takes place here once a year.

border area

The Netherlands and Belgium can be reached by car, but also by bike without much effort. Every country has its own charm. It would lead too far at this point to list the numerous excursion destinations in more detail. We would be happy to advise you in detail.

Maybe Paris?

The city on the Seine is a three-hour drive away. Almost every day a coach runs in the area for a day trip to the French metropolis. From Aachen, the Thalys will take you comfortably to Paris for shopping. You can also take a day trip to the North Sea beaches in Belgium and Holland.
